EHR ADOPTION PROGRAMS:
The Ohio Health Information Partnership (OHIP) is hosting two webinars for groups wishing to participate as a regional extension center (REC) partner with OHIP for the development of electronic health records (EHR) adoption programs. The webinars are scheduled for:
Thursday, February 25th at noon – 1:00 PM
Friday, February 26th at 8:00 – 9:00 AM
YOU ONLY NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF THE WEBINARS
These will be the only informational sessions held due to extremely tight time constraints placed on OHIP by the federal government. The slides presented during the webinar will be made available to all interested parties.The purpose of the webinar is to inform potential partners of the scope of services expected by OHIP under the federal REC grant award. Specifics will be reviewed during the webinars, but the general categories of scope of services that will need to be provided are:
1) education and outreach to providers regarding EHR;
2) practice and workflow redesign for practices;
3) IT evaluation and support;
4) EHR vendor selection;
5) implementation assistance and project management for EHR adoption by practices;
6) functional interoperability and health information exchange;
7) privacy and security best practices;
8) progress toward meaningful use; and
9) the development of local workforce support and retraining programs. OHIP will only accept bids from groups that represent a collaborative effort among interested parties in a section of the state.
Regions will be determined by OHIP once the bids have been reviewed and all bids must include information by county stating the geographic territory expected to be covered.
Interested parties should plan on submitting a signed letter of intent no later than Monday, March 1, 2010.
