The CSOHIMSS Board of Directors include industry professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the chapter mission:

It is the mission of CSOHIMSS to promote the professional development of its members through high quality educational programs and networking.

In addition, the CSOHIMSS Chapter activities and administration are governed by the CSOHIMSS Chapter By-Laws, revised as recently as July, 2011.

Joanne White, President
Chief Information Officer, Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, OH

Joanne has 30 years experience in Information Technology, 20 of those in healthcare. Before becoming the CIO at Wood County Hospital Joanne was a Systems Engineer for Siemens Medical Solutions and was involved with project management, implementations and support.

Joanne wants to be involved with the CSOHIMSS Board to help encourage sharing of information technology and help develop the future of Health Information Management Systems. Joanne can be contacted at President@csohimss.org.



Ajay Sharma, Vice-President, Treasurer
Ajay Sharma has 20 years of experience working with customers all over the world with their IT initiatives. He has worked for several large systems integrators including as a Senior Manager at MahindraSatyam (NYSE:SAY), an Ambulatory Project Manager at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles and as a Senior Manager at Sogeti, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cap Gemini S.A., listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.

Ajay is on the national mHIMSS task force. He has been with the CSOHIMSS Board since early 2007 and has been the PR/Communications Chair, the Program Chair from 2009 to 2011 and currently is Treasurer and President-Elect. He has successfully managed the coordination of the CSOHIMSS conferences for the board at Worthington Hills Country Club Columbus and the recent Interoperate 2010 and 2011 conference at Bethesda North Hospital and Catholic Health Partners in Cincinnati. The highly anticipated CIO Panel at Bethesda North was enthusiastically received by all of the attendees and participants at the conference.

He has lived and worked in different parts of the world from Hong Kong to Bangalore, India. He moved to Cincinnati in 1999 where he currently lives with his family based out of the Greater Cincinnati region. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ. He is also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt Consultant. Ajay has also been a board member of the Ohio Valley Oracle Applications User Group and is a
member of the South West Ohio Project Management Institute. He strives to leverage his diverse experience and background to the benefit of CSOHIMSS members and attendees and focuses on increasing the awareness and education of healthcare information technology in the region through a collaborative process.

Beverly Bell, Secretary
Beverly Bell RN, BS, MHA, FHIMSS, CPHIMS is a Partner with CSC where she leads the EHR Implementation and Optimization practice. She has greater than 25 years of healthcare and information technology experience specializing in organizational change management, business process optimization, EHR implementations (RC, Amb, Acute), CPOE, benefits realization, system selections and IT strategic planning.

Gary Clark, Communications Chairperson
Gary Clark is the Health IT Program Coordinator at Columbus State Community College. He received a BS Business Admin & Finance from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. Gary has a business and IT background and owned a software dealership for over 20 years. He has extensive experience with business and systems consulting, software implementations, project management, custom software development, support and training. Gary has been involved with the Midwest Community College Consortium's projects to improve the ONC curriculum for online delivery, develop assessments and align the ONC curriculum to the workforce role competencies. He also teaches EHR Software Lab courses and developed the virtual software lab ability at CSCC using Toolwire.

Russ Hessler, Membership Chairperson
Russ Hessler has been involved in healthcare in both ambulatory and inpatient facilities for over 20 years. Currently he manages the Medical Records and Utilization Review departments at Madison County Hospital in London Ohio. He has served on the CSOHIMSS board in various capacities in the past and seeks continued involvement in HIMSS on both the local and national level.

Lynn Child, Sponsorship Chairperson
Lynn co-founded CentraComm in 2001, serving as CEO from 2001 - 2009 and as Chairman of the Board from 2007 to present. Lynn has more than 30 years experience in the fields of business and education with a particular emphasis upon Healthcare IT. During her career, she developed expertise in strategic planning, business operations, marketing and communications, community relations, and web and application development. Lynn is the Chair-Elect for The Findlay/Hancock County Alliance and immediate past president for The Findlay Rotary Club. She has received multiple awards and honors over the years, including in 2009 The Athena Award honoring women's business leadership and excellence. Lynn earned an AA from Tiffin University, a BA from Ohio Northern University, an MA from Bowling Green State University, and an MA in Technological Leadership from George Washington University. Lynn currently also presides as Chairman and CEO of Aardvark Inc. and serves on a number of non-profit and for-profit boards locally and regionally.

Albert Lai, Scholarship Chairperson
Albert M. Lai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University. He is also the Associate Director of the Biomedical Informatics Program for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at The Ohio State University. Dr. Lai’s research interests include telemedicine to support chronic disease management, clinical and translational research, and the evaluation and usability of human computer interfaces for electronic health records.

Dr. Lai earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics from Columbia University, where his research focused on remote training of older adults to use the IDEATel telemedicine system. He also received bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

David Kissinger, Public Relations Chairperson
David is the Regional Vice President for Ohio at maxIT Healthcare and has a record of nearly 20 years of success as a Healthcare Industry Professional. His years of experience include hands-on work with a variety of Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendor systems, and a background as a Registered Nurse. David has served as a Project Manager, Clinical and Application Liaison, Senior Consultant, Application Systems Analyst, Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU, ER, Occupational Health, Long-term Care, and Skilled nursing settings, Phlebotomist, and is a military veteran having served as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy.
In his current role at maxIT David has personally been responsible for a business growth and development of over $10 million in annualized revenue and an increase in client base of over 400% in the Ohio market. He works tirelessly in the provision of recruitment, pre-deployment planning and executive oversight for an ever growing team of consulting resources. He is the "First call" for a group of Directors and IT Executives to meet aggressive timelines and deliverables utilizing best practices resource planning and expert resource development techniques.

His company, maxIT, is the trusted technology advisor and partner to healthcare organizations nationwide, providing seasoned professionals and expert guidance to maximize quality, safety, and financial performance and David has been a key contributor to the overall success and growth of maxIT since joining in 2008.
Providing opportunities to showcase the use of healthcare information systems and the quality patient care that they enable healthcare providers to deliver is a key strategic goal of the Public Relations Committee. As the leader of the Public Relations Committee, David is focused on developing and enhancing a positive image of CSOHIMSS across the membership as well as the general public as a whole.

Richard Moore, Past President
Richard Moore is president of DME Consulting Services a full service consulting firm. He has over 30 years experience with healthcare information systems working with many public and private organizations. His broad-based knowledge of health information systems and operations comes from experience working directly with providers, payers, software manufacturers, electronic data interchange organizations, billing services, clearinghouses and government agencies. He is the current president of eHealth Ohio, Inc., a non-profit regional affiliate of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI); a Standards Development Organization to the Secretary of HHS. The primary focus of eHealth Ohio is best practices for the on-going implementation of the HIPAA policies for transactions, security and privacy of protected health information. He has participated in WEDI focus groups on HIPAA X12 EDI transactions and as an author on WEDI testing whitepapers. An active participant in HIMSS, he is the past Chair of the HIMSS HIE Liaison Roundtable, is the past CSOHIMSS Advocacy Chairman and the past HIMSS Chapter HIE Liaison for the State of Ohio. He participated in HITSP on the Security, Privacy and Infrastructure and also in the EHR-Centric Tiger Team defining EHR standards for Meaningful Use. He is a founding member of the Liberty Alliance Health Identity Management Special Interest Group (HIM-SIG) and co-chair for the Kantara Initiative Healthcare Identity Assurance Workgroup. All of these activities are a part of a six year old study on the use of e-Authentication/Authorization best practices for the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) focusing on electronic identity management, secure electronic health information exchange and single sign-on in a federated health information network.
